ArenaNet today gave fans their first look at the upcoming End of Dragons expansion for Guild Wars 2, set to release in February 2022. The news dropped during a lengthy livestream, revealing new features, an introduction to the upcoming narrative, and a brand-new trailer.
End of Dragons is set on the island of Cantha, a mysterious land that's home to the oldest nation of humans in Guild Wars 2. This marks the first time that players will ever be able to set foot on Cantha, and ArenaNet wants to make sure it's been worth the wait.

"We’re incredibly excited to bring players back to the realm of Cantha for the first time in 15 years,” Colin Johansen, studio director, said. “End of Dragons represents the realization of the entire development team’s passion for Guild Wars 2, and our continued commitment to creating quality content for players old and new.”
Some of the new content that arrives with End of Dragons includes:
- First multiplayer mount (Siege Turtle – holds two riders)
- New personal watercraft (Skiffs)
- Elite Specializations (Beta begins on August 17)
- Third Generation of Legendary Weapons inspired by Elder Dragon Aurene
- New Strike Missions
Plenty more content is on the way, although we'll have to wait a bit longer to learn more.
