News about Master Chief's official return to blasting Grunts and running around on giant ring-shaped planets is finally coming out. We now know that Halo Infinite will be released on December 8th and that its multiplayer mode will have an odd challenge-based progression system (that everyone seems to hate.) We still don't know much about the game's story campaign or when we can play that campaign in co-op, but at least it's starting to look like this title actually exists.
If you're planning on getting Halo Infinite for PC you're probably wondering if your gaming rig is powerful enough to show Craig The Brute's face in glorious 4K. Thankfully, the specifications have now been released. They're not too beefy, but you're still going to need a decent computer to make Master Chief's armor look as shiny as possible.

Halo Infinite looks like it will require a decent, up-to-date PC to run at optimal settings. You won't need an elusive graphics card from Nvidia's 30 series, but the minimum specs need at least an Nvidia 1050 TI graphics card. Meanwhile, the recommended specs ask for a much more powerful 2070. Considering how the game originally seemed to have rather lackluster graphics when it was shown off last year, these requirements seem to indicate that Infinite is going to be a demanding game for your personal computer.
Of course, you won't need to worry about these specs if you're getting this game on Xbox. Despite needing some hefty hardware, Halo Infinite will also be available on the Xbox Series X/S as well as the less powerful Xbox One. That means if you haven't managed to snag a next-gen console, you'll still be able to enjoy the latest Halo on your last-gen machine. We'll just have to wait until December to see if this sequel can live to the previous adventures of Master Chief.
