Hideo Kojima Wanted To Make A Game Called Mads Max, Starring Mads Mikkelsen, And He Wasn’t Joking

Kojima isn't done paling around with best friends Norman Reedus or Mads Mikkelsen. In fact, he's already coming up with new ways to fit them into more projects, and he's completely serious about his latest idea, MADS MAX.

No, that's not a typo. The Death Stranding creator said he has a "number of ideas" he wants to create, using Mads as the lead. Apparently, he's told the actor as much, but Mads "broke his face" once Kojima told him the title. You know the one—MADS MAX.

Kojima wants you, and Mads Mikkelsen, to know he's serious. I'm not sure how much of this idea actually included Fury Road, but as a Mads fan myself, I'd like to think it'd be a nice fit. Kojima, chase your bizarre dreams and make it happen.

It's not the first time we've had a giggle thanks to Kojima, but this one kind of makes me wish he had his way. Back late last year, the Kojima Productions head said he would begin a series of daily new social media posts called "Hideo's Musings," where he would get his classic long-winded answers to one Twitter question a day. And who can forget another classic Tweet, where Kojima said Snyder's Army of the Dead turned his "head into a zombie."

While you may struggle to sometimes know when he's joking or being completely serious, Kojima just celebrated his 58th birthday and insisted with a smile that he will keep making games "until my brain loses its creative power."

The iconic MADS MAX may not be Kojima's next work, but he's still got plenty in the pipeline. Death Stranding is getting a director's cut, which will pack the original with extra content in the form of missions, a jetpack, a catapult, and more. Norman Reedus also recently teased that you may see another Death Stranding, noting that the sequel is "in negotiations." Whatever becomes of it, I hope he calls it Death Stranding 2: Mads Max.
