Battlefield 2042 is heavily anticipated by many gamers, as it looks like a direct response to much of the criticism that the franchise had received regarding its recent releases. For those excited to get their hands on the game, some leaked beta info should be just the thing Battlefield 2042 fans need to plan accordingly.
Obviously, leaked information should be taken with a grain of salt, especially when it comes to dates. Unofficial dates are always subject to change, something that proved true with the Battlefield 2042 reveal trailer. Different dates were rumored for several weeks before it finally dropped, so fans should not be completely certain regarding the beta’s apparent start day. However, considering that the information comes directly from the reliable insider Tom Henderson, it is certainly worth making note of.

Henderson has proven correct on countless Battlefield 2042 features, including player count and destruction. With the leaker even calling out the game’s robot dog, his sources can be trusted when it comes to its development. According to Henderson, a capture event will be held for content creators on September 20. Come September 22, the media embargo will lift for said creators. For normal players, September 22 is just as exciting, as this is when the early access beta kicks off.
Henderson even lists the exact time that the Battlefield 2042 beta will commence, with a 10 AM to 11 AM CEST window provided. To get into this early access September 22 test period, players need to pre-order Battlefield 2042, be subscribed to EA Play, or be an Xbox Game Pass member. For those that do not use those programs and are on the fence about the latest game in the Battlefield franchise, they can hop into the beta a few days later. On September 24, Battlefield 2042’s beta will supposedly open to the public, allowing everyone to try out the multiplayer game.
Henderson does not have an end date for the beta. If it is like other major betas, though, it may only run through the 26, with a second weekend possible. This is purely speculation, however, as the beta end date could be anything. It will be interesting to see if DICE has responded to the criticisms from the private alpha, such as complaints regarding Battlefield 2042’s tornadoes. Likewise, it will be intriguing to see what DICE chooses for the beta’s mode and map lineup.
With the beta sure to let fans test out Battlefield 2042’s Specialists and other features, it should be exciting for those that have kept an eye on the game. While the date could always change, this leaked info suggests that September 22 could be a very special day for the Battlefield community.
Battlefield 2042 launches October 22 on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X.
