October: it’s the best month. It’s Halloween, it’s the start of Autumn proper, it’s the month where we get a new Animal Crossing: New Horizons Direct, and it’s my birthday the start of Scorpio season, which is objectively the best star sign.
Animal Crossing: New Horizons is a great place to celebrate the season, because it has growable pumpkins, plenty of spooky-themed decor items, and a general cottagecore vibe that players just can’t get enough of. Plus, there are new Halloweeny items available today!
The new Halloween items are:
Spooky Trick Lamp
- Purchased from Nook’s Cranny for 11,600 Bells
- Crafted from a DIY recipe with 4 Orange Pumpkins and 4 Iron Nuggets
- Can be customised with Orange, Yellow, Green, and White pumpkins
- Has doors on the front which open to reveal little vignettes
Spooky Treats Basket
- Purchased from Nook’s Cranny for 10,000 Bells
- Crafted from a DIY recipe with 1 Orange Pumpkin and 2 Candy
- Can be customised with Orange, Yellow, Green, and White pumpkins, each with their own face (requires two of the right coloured pumpkins)
Spooky Tree
- Purchased from Nook’s Cranny for 10,000 Bells
- Crafted from a DIY recipe with 5 Orange Pumpkins and 10 Hardwood
- Can be customised with Orange, Yellow, Green, and White pumpkins, each with their own face (the white version also makes the tree white)
You can read a little more about the Fall Update here, but all the items from last year will be returning, too. A few players (the ones who are okay with time-travel) have had these items for quite some time, but for those who play in real time, the season has only just officially begun…
ACNH fashionista Nicole has prepared some extremely cute seasonal clothes, including a little pumpkin hat:
And now, we wait to welcome Brewster into our lives and into The Roost, which will be coming to Animal Crossing: New Horizons next month. Forget Christmas, we celebrate BIRDMAS now.
