Devolver Digital have announced developer Four Quarters’ rougelike strategy RPG Loop Hero has sold 500,000 copies one week after launch.
As previously reported, a mighty lich has destroyed the world, leaving nothing but a void. However, one young man and a small camp have survived, with his memory creating a looping path, and bits and pieces of the world around him. But is the Lich the only one behind the world’s devastation?
Rebuild the world with cards you find, and create reactions depending on what they are placed next to. Once you build up the world enough, the boss shall appear challenge you. Fail or win, the world is reset when you stop your adventure. You can also find equipment to power yourself up, and resources to build your camp for bonuses on future runs.
As part of the 500,000 strong-player announcement, Loop Hero has its own set of Steam trading cards. In addition, the developers are working on patches with requested quality-of-life improvements.
These include saving during expeditions, new speed settings, and a deck of the traits players have gained from defeated bosses. Future updates will also bring new cards, transformations as they interact with each other, classes, and music.

Loot and Upgrade: Strike down menacing creatures, recover stronger loot to equip on the fly and unlock new perks along the way.
Expand Your Camp: Turn hard-earned resources into campsite upgrades and gain valuable reinforcements with each completed loop along the expedition path.
Save the Lost World: Overcome a series of unholy guardian bosses over a grand saga to save the world and break the time loop of the Lich!
