Mass Effect: Legendary Edition – Reticle Bloom, Aim Assist and XP Changes Revealed for Mass Effect 1

Mass Effect Legendary Edition (4)

Along with a new video showcasing performance and details on Mass Effect 3’s Galactic Readiness, BioWare also revealed changes coming to Mass Effect 1’s combat for the Legendary Edition. First up is the ability for Shepard to sprint out of combat. Melee attacks are now a single button press instead of just happening when close to an enemy.

In addition to weapon accuracy and handling being improved, reticle bloom is now more controlled. Aim assist for target acquisition has also been improved while weapon sway is gone from sniper rifle. Another nice change is the ability to acquire ammo mods through the entire game, including from merchants. And though weapons rely on heat cooldown, the process is now much faster.

XP has also also been rebalanced especially as players approach the end with players able to get to higher levels in a single playthrough when completing most content. There’s also no level cap for the first playthrough, which is nice. Mass Effect: Legendary Edition is out on May 14th for PS4, Xbox One and PC. Stay tuned for more details in the meantime.
