Oshawott Is Pokemon Go’s Next Community Day Star

Another cute water Pokemon is set to headline the next community day in Pokemon Go. Oshawott will be the star of the day on September 19 from 11 am to 5 pm local time. If you missed out on catching this adorable sea otter, now is your chance. There will also be a possibility for shiny hunters to add a shiny version of Oshawott to their collection.

Besides the increase of appearance rate during Community Day, players can also utilize a Rainy Lure Module to attract it. If you evolve Dewott during the event, or at least two hours after it ends, you will earn yourself a Samurott who knows the Charged Attack Hydro Cannon.

For players that already have a Samurott, they will be able to learn another Charged Attack, Razor Shell. Pokemon Go's announcement states Samurott will be able to learn this move even after the event ends. Pokestops will also feature Oshawott-inspired stickers. These can also be obtained through gifts from friends or as a purchase made in the shop.

In the shop, you can snag a one-time purchase of a Community Day Box for 1,280 Pokecoins. Included inside are 50 Ultra Balls, five lucky eggs, five Rainy Lure Modules, and one Elite Fast TM. If completing research tasks is more your preference, you can purchase the Oshawott Community Day Special Research Story, "From Scalchops to Seamitars".

One of the rewards includes the Rainy Lure Module which will come in handy during the Community Day event itself. Be sure to pick up your ticket for $1 USD to get access. Tickets are non-refundable and per usual, you will not receive an in-game medal upon completion. Bonuses during the event include 3x catch XP, the incense used during the event will last up to three hours, and lure modules activated will also last the same amount of time.

Don't forget that even more Pokemon are coming to the game as shown during the last Pokemon Direct. Favorites such as Wooloo, Zacian, and more Galar region Pokemon will make an appearance before the month is up, so don't miss out. With the introduction of new Pokemon coming to Pokemon Legends: Arceus, the series now has a total of over 900 Pokemon. What the last direct made very clear is that Pokemon is a franchise that will continue to grow and expand.
