Persona Series Has “Exciting Plans” for 25th Anniversary in 2021, Says Producer

Persona 5 Royal

The Persona series finally found global mainstream success with the launch of Persona 5 in 2017 to match the critical success it’s been enjoying for many years, and sales for the series and its many releases since then have been consistently impressive, to say the least. The future certainly looks bright as well- and we might get a glimpse at that future in the near future.

Atlus recently received the “PlayStation Partner Award” for Persona 5 Royal on the PS4, and in their message, the team at P-Studio teased some interesting things, with series producer and director Kazuhisa Wada saying that they have “exciting plans” for the series 25th anniversary, which is in 2021.

“As next year is the 25th anniversary of the Persona series, we have many exciting plans which we hope you will all enjoy,” Wada said (via Persona Central).

It’s probably too soon for Persona 6, but there’s several other announcements Atlus could make. A Persona 5 tie-in fighting game similar to Persona 4 Arena could be announced, while there were some rumours earlier this year of a Persona 3 FES PC release as well.

With Persona 4 Golden’s success on PC, Atlus and Sega have also said on multiple occasions that they could bring more of their games to platforms outside of PlayStation– so perhaps we have some reason to be optimistic about a Persona 5 Royal port for PC and Switch.

Meanwhile, though the announcement hasn’t been officially made, a leaked trailer recently revealed that Persona 5 Strikers will be coming to PS4, Switch, and Steam in February.
