Pokemon Brilliant Diamond And Shining Pearl Add Hideaways, Partners, Fashion, Platinum Elements, And More

Nintendo and Game Freak hosted a new Pokemon Presents today, showing off its previously announced upcoming titles for 2021 and 2022. Pokemon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl's latest trailer for the showcase revealed some of its new additions, including hideaways, partners, fashion, and Pokemon Platinum influences.

The remakes include plenty of new goodies, bringing Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl up to more modern Pokemon standards. The latest from Nintendo gives us a peek at the Underground, and while the area may be familiar, the Pokemon down there are new. Now called Hideaways, you'll explore these caverns hunting new 'mons to add to your team.

And pay close attention, as you'll notice Cynthia meets the Trainer outside of Team Galatic's base in the new footage. That tells us that Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl will be based on Platinum, or at least it will be to some extent.

Pokemon Presents also debuted the remake's fashion elements, where you'll dress up and compete in a series of mini games. Partner Pokemon from other generations will also make a return, so your favorite little buddy will trail along behind you in the Sinnoh region.

While the bones of the remakes look to be the same, it looks like Game Freak and Nintendo will bring newer elements you've come to enjoy to Diamond and Pearl that keep things fresh. They're available for pre-order now, immediately following Pokemon Presents, and will launch on November 19.

And if you missed the entire showcase, there's quite a bit to catch up on. Diamond and Pearl will get its own themed Switch, featuring its legendaries Dialga and Palkia. Pokemon Unite got its section, too, including an announcement that it'll be on mobile in September, and you'll soon see Slyveon and Mamoswine added to its roster.

For those curious, the archive of Pokemon Presents is up now, so you can still check out all of the new footage, including Legends related announcements.
