The Pokemon franchise is full of strange, outlandish, and downright adorable designs for its loveable monsters, but the Eevee family stands out from the competition for a few reasons. One of those reasons is their widespread appeal – because Eevee is a Pokemon that can evolve into a variety of different types, there's almost always a slot on a trainer's team open for it or its evolutions. One Pokemon fan has decided to celebrate Eevee and the original three Eeveelutions with a particularly delicious-looking fan creation.
Redditor miscellaneousmao has experimented in Eevee-themed desserts before, crafting adorable little chocolates and even a small lunchbox cake – to be served in a container modeled after a Poke Ball – but this project may take the cake. All three Gen 1 Eeveelutions and Eevee itself are captured in incredible game-accurate frosting designs.

The result of miscellaneousmao's work is not one, but four tiny lunchbox cakes served in Poke Ball or Great Ball-patterned containers. Each of the cakes is round, featuring colored piping, icing flowers, and a small Eevee or Eeveelution design depicted poking its head up in the center of the dessert. The shape of the piping around the edge of the cake changes to reflect the type of the Eeveelution in question–Eevee gets a soft, almost fluffy design, while Jolteon gets jagged designs reminiscent of sparks and Vaporeon gets smooth, round droplets.
Miscellaneousmao shows off their work in a short, 33-second-long video that begins with them opening each box and continues to give close-ups on each cake. The focus on Eevee, Flareon, Jolteon, and Vaporeon may turn off some fans who prefer the later Eeveelutions, but the baker may well choose to expand their design library in the future. In the meantime, this video serves as an excellent proof of concept of the kind of adorable designs miscellaneousmao can create.
The Eeveelution lunchbox cakes appear to have been warmly received by other fans, many of whom immediately began wondering if they could commission miscellaneousmao to make them Eeveelution cakes. One user wondered if they could invite the baker to their birthday party, presumably so they could receive Eeveelution cake as a present.
A few asked questions about what became of these cakes. Apparently, miscellaneousmao ate them with friends, which sounds very much in the spirit of the Pokemon franchise. It can't be denied that these lunchbox cakes are beautifully crafted and bring the three earliest Eeveelution to life, which has its own appeal, especially when the possibility of new Eeveelutions is always dangling over Pokemon fans' heads.
Pokemon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl will release on November 19 for the Nintendo Switch.
