August isn’t over quite yet, but it’s never too early to start looking ahead when it comes to Pokemon GO events. The full September 2021 calendar of events for the mobile AR game hasn’t been revealed just yet, but Niantic is ready to start talking about next month’s Community Day.
As always, the Community Day event will put one Pokemon in the spotlight and offer players a chance to catch a ton of it, rack up a load of Candy, find some Shiny spawns, and enjoy a number of other bonuses. Community Day events are likely Pokemon GO’s most popular monthly activity and September’s featured Pokemon is sure to draw the usual crowd and continue that trend.

Next month’s event is scheduled to take place on Sunday, September 19, 2021, from 11:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. local time and will offer players the chance to grind closer to the increased level cap with a 3x Catch XP bonus during the event window while they race around catching Oshawott spawns.
“We’re excited to announce that Oshawott, the Sea Otter Pokémon, will be featured during September’s Community Day event!”
The adorable Gen 5 Water-type Pokemon is pretty popular in the community, despite the fact that its evolutions aren’t all that impactful on the PvE metagame. That said, there is certainly a place for Oshawott and its evolutions in the PvP grind and players can always use some more high IV Pokemon to put to work on that side of the game.
That should be just about everything players know about next month’s Community Day for now, but we should learn more about what other events will be arriving during the end of the Season of Discovery soon. Be sure to check back in the near future for more Pokemon GO strategy guides, news, and updates. Until then, good luck out there, trainers!
