Project 007 Developer Seeking Writer for “Character-Driven Scenes With Substantial Dialogue”

Hitman 3 has released and still receives updates but IO Interactive also has Project 007 in the background. It announced the title in November 2020 with a new origin story for James Bond as he eventually becomes a 00 agent. A new listing has emerged for a writer at the studio, one who can write mission stories and characters that are “in line with the overarching story and the game’s creative vision.”

They’ll also work with designers and artists to “build locations, cutscenes, quests, and in-game dialogue that tell coherent, clever, and powerful stories.” Other duties include constructing the narrative and mission design; creating scenarios, story-arcs and objects that are “tied to larger story goals and have a red thread that leads the player down a story path”; and writing “story outlines, character-driven scenes with substantial dialogue.” Character intel and objective text along with backstory documents talking about various global locations is also included.

It all sounds fairly typical for narrative design in first person/third person shooter, especially one that features James Bond. IO Interactive has yet to really reveal any gameplay details or even when the game will release and on what platforms. We do know that Bond won’t have the likeness of any actor that’s portrayed him before and that there could be a trilogy for the game. Stay tuned for more details in the meantime.
