It’s almost 7 months into the generation and we’ve only had a snippet of the power of the PS5. Demon’s Souls gave us a glimpse of the visuals and Astro’s Playroom explored the possibilities of the DualSense. Looking to be the landmark release to kickstart the generation is Ratchet and Clank: Rift Apart, but will it meet our lofty expectations?

Debuting on the PlayStation 2, Ratchet and Clank instantly appealed to audiences due to the chemistry of the duo and strange and wonderful environments they encounter. 19 years after the original and Ratchet and Clank is the most sought after game on the PlayStation and are firmly established as mascots of the system. Boasting an incredible rift system allowing you to traverse to different worlds in the blink of an eye, Rift Apart looks as if it could be the first essential PS5 game.
