It’s been 12 years since the release of Silent Hill: Shattered Memories launched on Nintendo Wii. In the years since, the series has popped up on other platforms, most infamously Hideo Kojima and Gillermo del Toro’s beloved P.T. (playable teaser), a prelude to the duo’s canceled Silent Hills project. Now, after years lying in virtual dormancy, rumors have begun swirling that Konami is prepping a whopping three Silent Hill projects.
According to VGC, the projects entail a proper sequel in the series is in the works for current-gen hardware, a remake of Silent Hill 2, and a smaller scale episodic experience. That latter project might be the most likely to come to Switch given the console’s relative lack of processing power compared to PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X. Take all of this with a grain of salt as nothing has been confirmed, but it’s been so long since Silent Hill has been a proper franchise that fans will likely take whatever they can get at this point.
