Publisher Autumn Games and developer Hidden Variable have announced the release window for Skullgirls 2nd Encore DLC character Annie, as well as a Season 1 pass.

Annie will launch via Early Access for Windows PC (via Steam) sometime in early March for $9.99, with a full release on PC and PlayStation 4 in May of 2021. A free update is also planned to release alongside Annie, it includes rebalancing, quality of life changes, and bug fixes.

Following the release of Annie, there’s at least three more characters planned as part of the Skullgirls 2nd Encore Season 1 Pass, priced at $34.99. It includes:

In addition to the Annie DLC (and our recent announcement of a brand new character in the works), we are excited to announce the first ever Skullgirls Season Pass!

The Season Pass will (minimally) include:

  • DLC: Annie
  • DLC: TBA Character 2
  • DLC: TBA Character 3
  • DLC: TBA Character 4
  • Season Pass Exclusive Palette Pack
  • DLC: Skullgirls OST (including the new Annie Track)
  • DLC: Skullgirls Digital Art Compendium (Fully Updated!)

It’s worth pointing out all the new downloadable content fighters will include the new character, a new playable stage, new music, 25+ swappable color palettes, and full Story Mode content.

While all the current planned extra DLC characters are chosen already, Autumn Games is looking into ways owners of the Season 1 Pass can vote on their release order. Pending how well the Annie DLC and Season 1 Pass does, they’re hoping to add more free content with the Season 1 Pass, including a fifth new character.

As for the previously planned Nintendo Switch and Xbox One, Autumn Games said the Switch port is delayed “due to unique technical complications regarding the Nintendo Switch port.” They also said they are “interested in bringing Skullgirls to the Xbox One / Series X” but “do not have any further details we can share at this time.” Older versions of Skullgirls (for Xbox 360, PS3, or PS Vita) will not get the new content, either.
