Spider Scrolls are a unique type of weapon that were introduced in the Dragonborn DLC for Skyrim. This weapon type consists of scrolls that take the appearance of spiders; however, each of these spiders has unique magical effects that can manipulate, damage, and trap your enemies. There are also Spider Scrolls that have more practical uses.

You can craft Spider Scrolls by traveling to White Ridge Barrow on Solstheim and placing the correct set of ingredients into the Imbuing Chamber. There are tons of different types of Spider Scrolls to use, and these are a few of the best that you can craft.
Oil Spider
Materials To Craft: Albino Spider Pod, Dwarven Oil
Oil is a rare but important mechanic in Skyrim, as it usually allows you to destroy a lamp and light the oil on fire. However, with the Oil Spider, you can put down oil in any location in the game.

This means that you can ignite a large area and damage many enemies at once, provided you have a fire spell ready to use. Regardless of what type of build you're using, you can always benefit from using an Oil Spider in a dungeon.
Poison Cloaked Spider
Materials To Craft: Albino Spider Pod, Salt Pile, Emerald
Poison is a rare damage type in Skyrim because it isn't found on many weapons, outside of individual alchemy poison. However, the Poison Cloaked Spider can allow you to create an entire build themed around poison. This spider poisons enemies that come close to it, which lowers the enemy's health and lets you defeat them swiftly.
Although the Poison Cloaked Spider isn't the strongest Spider Scroll in Skyrim, it's one of the most useful assets for a poison character build.
Jumping Shock Spider
Materials To Craft: Albino Spiders Pod, Amethyst
Mages that prefer to use shock magic can benefit greatly by using the Jumping Shock Spider since it follows around an enemy and then jumps on it upon entering its radius. After it jumps towards an enemy, it will explode, dealing shock damage to every enemy in the area.

Although shock magic isn't the most potent element in Skyrim, the Jumping Shock Spider still has its place if you enjoy taking magicka from your enemies. Specifically, the Jumping Shock Spider is useful while fighting mage characters since it also deals magicka damage.
Mind Control Spider
Materials To Craft: Albino Spiders Pod, Any Size Soul Gem
The Mind Control Spider is useful if you want to use illusion magic but haven't leveled up your illusion skill. This Spider Scroll acts as an illusion spell, forcing an enemy that is hit by it to fight by your side for thirty seconds.
The illusion skill takes a long time to level up, so the Mind Control Spider is a good option for characters that don't regularly use spells but still want to control enemies.
Flame Cloaked Spider
Materials To Craft: Albino Spider Pod, Salt Pile, Ruby
Fire damage is one of the strongest damage types found in Skyrim, especially since enemies burn for extra damage after they're hit with a fire attack. The Flame Cloaked Spider hits enemies in the area with an explosion of fire damage when they get too close to it.

Regardless of whether you're role-playing as a pyromancer or a swordsman, you can supplement your damage by throwing down a few Flame Cloaked Spiders before entering combat with a group of enemies.
Jumping Poison Spider
Materials To Craft: Albino Spider Pod, Emerald
The Jumping Poison Spider is another Spider Scroll that deals poison damage; however, this spider jumps on enemies, which makes it different than spiders that wait for an enemy to come to them.
If you enjoy dealing poison damage, then the Jumping Poison Spider is one of your best options outside of poisons crafted using alchemy. Additionally, the Jumping Poison Spider requires little effort other than throwing it down and waiting for it to run at an enemy.
Exploding Poison Spider
Materials To Craft: Damaged Albino Spider Pod, Emerald
The Exploding Poison Spider is one of the best Spider Scrolls to use if you prefer to play strategically. You can throw the Exploding Poison Spider on the ground and wait for an enemy to get close to it, after which it will explode and deal a ton of poison damage.
This Spider Scroll is similar to a rune in that it sits on the ground and waits for an enemy, and if it's placed strategically, then it can hit many enemies in a single blast.
Jumping Flame Spider
Materials To Craft: Albino Spider Pod, Ruby
The Jumping Flame Spider deals a ton of damage towards enemies, both with its initial explosive blast upon hitting an enemy but also because of its lingering flame effect. This effect deals extra damage as long as an enemy is on fire.
The Jumping Flame Spider is stronger than every type of poison Spider Scroll since it both deals base damage and has an extra effect. All you have to do to activate the Jumping Flame Spider is throw it on the ground, and it will immediately start searching for an enemy to attack.
Exploding Flame Spider
Materials To Craft: Damaged Albino Spider Pod, Ruby
Although the Exploding Poison Spider is powerful, it doesn't deal as much damage in the long run as the Exploding Flame Spider. This Spider Scroll can be thrown on the ground, and it will wait for an enemy to approach it.
Once an enemy has approached the Exploding Flame Spider, it will turn into a fiery explosion, hitting all enemies within the nearby radius. The extra flame damage is particularly useful with this spider since it already deals so much damage in the initial blast.
Pack Spider
Materials To Craft: Albino Spider Pod, Bone Meal
The Pack Spider is a unique item because it can't be obtained by crafting in the base game of Skyrim; however, it is in the base game files and can be obtained with mods. The Pack Spider is incredibly useful because it can carry items from one place to another.
This means that if you go over the carry weight limit, you can continue on your adventure without dropping any items by allowing your spider to carry the extra gear. It's a shame that this spider scroll was never fully implemented into the base game of Skyrim; however, luckily, most platforms currently have access to mods which makes obtaining this spider scroll a reality for the majority of players.
