The latest Sonic Central broadcast had plenty of news to share about the Blue Blur. First up, here’s the broadcast itself in case you missed it. Feel free to give a watch or just skip on down below for highlights:
Here are the biggest takeaways from what was shown:
- Sonic Frontiers is getting an animated prologue. Fittingly dubbed Sonic Frontiers: Prologue, the short is set prior to the events of the game and will star Knuckles. No other details were revealed other than that the piece of animation will be available in its entirety before the launch of Sonic Frontiers.
- Shadow is coming to Netflix’s Sonic Prime animated series. You can see him in action in this brief clip:
- The Blu-ray and DVD release of Sonic the Hedgehog 2 is slated for August 9. It will also become available for streaming that same day. There’s a steelbook version for those who want to get a fancier edition of the movie.
- Fall Guys is getting Sonic, Tails, and Knuckles costumes. Recall that the game is coming soon to Switch and will be free-to-play.
- A live orchestral Sonic Symphony tour is on the way. No dates or locations just yet.
- Razer is producing a wireless controller and charging dock combo featuring Sonic. It’s pricey at $200, but looks utterly fabulous. Alas, it’s an Xbox controller, but it’s nifty enough that we think the Sonic faithful among you all will want a gander at it nonetheless.
And that’s about it! There’s a bunch of merchandise on the way, as well, but otherwise these are the biggest bits of news dropped during the Sonic Central broadcast. Which is most intriguing to you? Tell us in the comments!
