Sonic the Hedgehog 30th Anniversary Livestream

Sega has announced a Sonic the Hedgehog 30th anniversary livestream, and it’s set for May 27 at 9 AM Pacific / 12 PM Eastern.

The Sonic the Hedgehog 30th anniversary livestream will be viewable live on the official Sonic the Hedgehog YouTube and Twitch channels.

During the event, Sega’s internal Sonic team will be joined by “special guests” and they’re planning to reveal a “plethora of upcoming projects, partnerships and events” spanning the Sonic the Hedgehog franchise, and beyond.

Lastly, Sega revealed an all-new fan appreciation video showing off a “nostalgic look back at the franchise as the Blue Blur speeds forward to inspire future generations.” The “Unstoppable” campaign follows the experiences of several young Sonic fans throughout the decades, from the early 90s to the modern era.

A business-to-business advert in September 2020 for Sonic the Hedgehog confirmed new games will be revealed in 2021 for the series’ 30th anniversary; along with a wave of new merchandise.

As previously reported, German dubbing studio Iksample listed their work on “Sonic Colors Remastered,” while French retailer Sogamely had also previously listed “Sonic Colors Ultimate – Limited Edition” for Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One (launching December 31st, though this and other information may be a placeholder).

Sogamely also listed “Sonic Collection” on its website; with leakers claiming it would feature a mix of ports, remasters, and “games that have never seen a re-release before.”

We’ll keep you guys posted.
