SpellForce 3 Reforced Is Coming To PS4, PS5, And Xbox Series In December

Publisher THQ Nordic and developer Grimlore Games have announced that SpellForce 3 Reforced will arrive on consoles this December 7.

SpellForce is a mix of RPG and real-time strategy, a more unusual blend for console players. The Reforced package is designed to offer a riveting experience with revamped controls and a reworked UI. Such enhancements were a necessary upgrade to bring the series’ complex mechanics to the new platforms for the first time.

For now, there are few details on other technical upgrades for the new edition. We expect that Reforced will also receive other additional features, like enhanced graphics and minor quality of life improvements. The publisher did not clarify the subject as of now.

However, to celebrate the occasion, THQ Nordic shared a new trailer, which briefly summarised the history of the world for the newcomers to the series.

Reforced will include only the base game, while those who want to get the full SpellForce 3 experience should grab the Complete Edition, arriving on the same date. This will get you access to the Soul Harvest and Fallen God expansions, each sporting their own single-player campaigns with over 30 hours of gameplay.

SpellForce 3 Reforced and its Complete Edition are already available for pre-order on the PS Store and Microsoft Store. There will also be next-gen console support available via a free upgrade. SpellForce 3 will also hit PC in December, and if you own the base game on Steam, you can expect Reforced dropping as a free update.

After spending more than seven years working on the SpellForce universe, Grimlore Games is finally moving on with a new IP. The studio has formally announced its next game called Project Minerva. From what we know, Project Minerva will be a top-down ARPG set in an antique, picturesque, handcrafted open-world, and will use Unreal Engine. It is currently unknown when the game is expected to launch.
