Spider-Man: No Way Home Merch Hints At Peter Parker Learning Doctor Strange’s Magic

With no trailer for Spider-Man: No Way Home in sight there’s an overflow of speculation regarding how Marvel Studios could be weaving Peter Parker’s future in the MCU, but the latest of these hints only confirms all those rumors pointing to Doctor Strange’s involvement in it.

The biggest of these clues is none other than Doctor Strange being spotted on Spider-Man’s set recently, thus all but confirming his appearance and possibly his role as Peter's new mentor to replace Tony Stark. As if that wasn’t enough, the upcoming animated series What If…? has also teased a version of Spider-Man wearing what looks to be Doctor Strange’s cape, so maybe it’s just a case of the sorcerer taking over Spider-Man’s many lives.

Now it seems it’s finally clear how Doctor Strange’s magic will be crashing the Spider-Verse with new promotional artwork showing Spider-Man sporting some brand new suits that had partially leaked via some action figures related to the movie. Peter’s flashy brand new suit features black, gold, and blue as its most prominent colors while keeping a couple of dashes of red, but the colors definitely take a step back to his magic-wielding web shooters and the Spider-Man logo being replaced by one of Strange’s magical rune shields.

Upon taking a closer look, the artwork reveals this Spider-Man suit is nothing more than the perfect blend of “ Science + Magic” which speaks volumes of the kind of threat the web swinger could be facing in Now Way Home. Even if Spider-Man suits can get quite meme-worthy, putting all plot speculation aside, the redesigned Spider-Man logo is a thing of beauty with the blue magic making for a stark contrast to differentiate him from the rest of the MCU’s magic users.

WandaVision made sure fans remembered the words “chaos magic” to single out the Scarlet Witch’s unique powers, and considering she’s bound to appear in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness it’s a good thing all this magic is being color-coded for viewers. However, if Doctor Strange’s orange powers are supposed to be the Eldritch magic, red is for chaos, and Loki uses green magic, then Spider-Man’s contact with the mystic arts will surely come bundled with a good explanation.

Kevin Feige has addressed some MCU theories and also stated that Sony is handling No Way Home on its own, however, both parties have achieved a great amount of Marvel synergy up to this point so it will be interesting to see how all this magic is factored in before any of these heroes face Kang the Conqueror or Loki briefs them on the Multiverse.
