There's a certain irony to a game about breaking down walls being delayed thanks to a potentially dangerous structural fault. Rainbow Six Siege famously makes use of various wall-breaking mechanics, and now a tournament has been delayed thanks to a water leak.
The Rainbow Six Siege Mexico Major is currently underway. Last Wednesday's match between DarkZero Esports and Damwon Gaming was postponed due to a "structural failure at the venue," according to Rainbow Six Siege's official Twitter account. Thankfully, all staff and players were evacuated from the main stage without injury.
The match was postponed as an inspection took place, and just yesterday, Ubisoft reported the findings.
"Yesterday evening, before the start of our final match of the day, a water leak was discovered from the ceiling of the main stage area. To ensure everyone's safety, the tournament production areas were immediately evacuated," the official Rainbow Six Siege Esports Twitter reported.

"A thorough review in consultation with the hotel's engineers and maintenance staff determined that the leak was caused by an overflowing drip pan from one of the air conditioning units. The issue has been addressed and no other water leaks were found."
Following these announcements, DarkZero and Damwon Gaming completed their finals match, with DarkZero emerging the victor. They'll move on to today's quarter-finals match.
It's not just Mexican air conditioners that are having barriers broken down by Rainbow Six Siege. The online shooter recently announced its first-ever trans operator will be coming in Rainbow Six Siege's Crystal Guard update. Osa, as she's called, has the ability to deploy transparent, waist-high bulletproof walls which can also be attached to windows and doorways.
However, Osa's design has received criticism for apparently not looking trans enough. This caused Twitch stream BirdTicklet to fire back on Twitter as one of the consultants who helped design Osa.
