Two modes and four DLC characters have been revealed in new Suicide Squad: Kill The Justice League leak.

Warner Bros. seems to be having a challenging time with its upcoming co-op shooter Suicide Squad: Kill The Justice League, especially after it was delayed almost a full year, until February 2, to ensure the ‘best quality experience.’

Now, a new leak has revealed two of its secret game modes and four possible DLC characters, for what is ostensibly the sequel to the Batman: Arkham trilogy.

One of the new game modes takes inspiration from Destiny 2’s Gambit multiplayer mode, while the DLC character choices already seem to be peculiar and not as straightforward as just slapping in some new DC Comics supervillains.

The first new game mode is what sounds like a fairly straightforward Horde mode, according to leaker Miller Ross – although who exactly the enemies are you’re fighting isn’t made clear. The other new mode is a team-based multiplayer feature, which the report describes as:

‘A 4v4v4v4 PvPvPvE mode. A distant cousin of Destiny 2’s Gambit. Teams are pulled into multiverse rifts and must fight and complete objectives to favour with a sadistic villain. Entertain him enough and you might receive advantages to help you take out your opponents.’

That’s somewhat surprising, as while Suicide Squad: Kill The Justice League is essentially a live service game there’s been no indication before that 16 people can play at once.

According to Ross (a reliable Avengers source who also broke the news of its cancellation), his datamine of the alpha also found information about four characters he thinks will be post-launch DLC additions.

One of these is DC regular Deathstroke, but the others are described but never positively identified.

‘Nothing comes between her and the gym – not even her wife,’ says Ross of one new character. ‘Unsure on melee (could be axe or shield) but her traversal is all ice power based. Think Frozone.’

‘Not an original character, but an original interpretation. New code name. New abilities,’ he says of another. ‘They seem to be a scavenger dealing in Coluan armaments. Think MCU Vulture but young. They use gravity warping tech for traversal. Melee may be an axe or a shield?

‘This one is a little complicated,’ he says of the final addition. ‘Something you haven’t seen for a very long time. Uses bombs to launch themself into the air, then floats and glides on an umbrella. They use a flail for melee combat which may or may not be converted from the umbrella? This is unclear.’

That first one sounds a bit like Killer Frost, although she’s not often portrayed as a lesbian and is never usually very muscular. The last one is presumably The Penguin but we have no idea who the second, mostly new character might be.

You might have thought they’d try to get some more recognisable faces in there for the game, but then the whole approach to the Suicide Squad has been peculiar from the start.
