First Watch Games and Hi-Rez Studios introduce Switchblade, the latest new Rogue, as well as chaotic 6v6 modes to the free-to-play cross-platform team shooter Rogue Company.
Switchblade is a highly effective Breacher who uses a direct approach to flush enemies out from behind cover, and she joins the ever-growing roster of 20 playable Rogues. But who is Switchblade?
Switchblade has been on the run from mercenaries of unknown origin since childhood, and she has become a master of survival; self-reliance imposed on her by necessity. She doesn’t let anyone get too close – most of those who have tried wanted to kill or kidnap her. Those who genuinely cared about her were assassinated.
Joining Rogue Company is a one-time opportunity for Switchblade. The Director promised to find out who had been pursuing her all these years in exchange for her services. There’s always a snag. Switchblade doesn’t believe in promises, but it’s fun to act as if she does.
Abilities
Switchblade’s Chaos Launcher unique ability rains napalm clusters on unsuspecting foes. Switchblade will be clearing out enemies across the map thanks to her Fight and Flight passive, which grants her increased movement speed after using abilities and gadgets like bounce grenades and flashbangs.
“Players are going to love Switchblade’s powerful crowd clearing abilities,” says Chris Larson, Executive Producer. “The one-two punch of Chaos Launcher plus movement boost mean they’ll be forcing enemies into the open and shaking up the combat. Bring her into the new 6v6 King of the Hill and Team Deathmatch modes and they’ll see what a difference she can make.”
New Modes
Aside from Switchblade, Rogue Company’s 20 million players can now enjoy new 6v6 team combat modes:
King of the Hill features nine maps with five-minute rounds of intense capture-and-control gameplay. To gain points, each team must control the hill; the first team to 150 points wins. The issue is that the hill shifts every 75 seconds.
Team Deathmatch pits two teams of six against each other in twelve-minute rounds across twelve maps, with the goal of being the first to 50 eliminations. Every elimination results in a team cash drop, with players scrambling to secure the money to give them an advantage.
All this new content is available for all Rogue Company players now. The full game is free-to-play. It is available for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 5, and PC.
