The Ascent: How to Get Overcharge Kills | Game Rant

As players make their way through The Ascent, they will encounter a variety of side missions that they can complete for various rewards. While most of this optional content is quite straightforward in its instruction, some of the mission descriptions may leave fans slightly confused. For instance, the Double Charge side mission in The Ascent sends fans to kill enemies using stasis overcharge, and the way that is done may not be immediately obvious.

For those The Ascent players that are trying to get overcharge kills, the first step is to visit any Tactical Shop, including the Cyber Vendor in Cluster 13, and purchase a Stasis Drone. As the name of this item suggests, these drones generate a stasis field around a fan's chosen target, and it will stun the targeted enemy temporarily. Notably, Stasis Drones are quite expensive, coming in at 22,000 uCreds, and players may need to do a bit of money farming before they head to their nearest Tactical vendor.

With a Stasis Drone in hand, players should search for some low-level enemies and engage them in combat. They should then deploy their drone and wait for their foe to get stunned by it. From there, cyberpunk game fans must fire their weapon at the incapacitated enemy, which will ultimately cause them to explode. This explosive death is what is considered an overcharge kill in The Ascent, and players simply need to perform it on 10 adversaries to finish this step in the Double Charge side mission.

After killing 10 enemies with stasis overcharge, fans should make their way back to Beezelchek to fully complete this RPG side mission and collect the associated rewards. With respect to the specifics of those rewards, players will receive 2,200 XP and the Stasis Stomp augmentation for their efforts. This augment can be used to launch nearby enemies into the air and put them in stasis, giving players the ability to stun enemies without having to call upon the assistance of a Stasis Drone.

That said, players will need to sacrifice one of their very-valuable Aug Slots in order to use Stasis Stomp. While some fans may be more than happy to do that, others will undoubtedly prefer to dedicate their slots to augmentations like Hyper Focus and Overclock. Indeed, players will pickup some extremely powerful augments as they work to beat The Ascent, and there simply may not be enough room for Stasis Stomp to find a home.

The Ascent is available now for PC, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
