Someone Called Chris Pratt Voicing Mario More Than A Year Ago
During the Nintendo Direct yesterday, we got some surprises that we didn’t see coming—namely, the cast for the upcoming Mario movie. Chris Pratt will be playing the voice of Mario, along with Charlie Day as Luigi, Anya Taylor-Joy as Peach, Jack Black as Bowser, and Seth Rogen as Donkey Kong. While most people were shocked at this lineup, one Twitter user, StheGeneral, actually predicted this happening. In May of 2020, they tweeted “I’m calling it now, the Mario Bros movie will NOT have Charles Martinet play Mario for no reason and cast someone like Chris Pratt.”
Chris Pratt Says We’ll Have To Wait To Hear His Mario Voice
In a similar flavor, Pratt spoke up recently about his role as Mario. A video was posted to Twitter in which Pratt says the famous “It’s a-me, Mario” line, though he explains that he won’t say it in the “Mario voice” until later. He goes on to share that he’s excited to play Mario, as he dreamed about playing the role when he played video games as a kid. In his words, “dreams come true.” We have no idea what his Mario voice is going to sound like, but we can’t wait to find out.
Disney To Overhaul Contracts With Stars Amid Scarlett Johansson Lawsuit
You’ve likely heard about Scarlet Johansson suing Disney over the release of Black Widow on streaming services at the same time that the movie came out in theaters, claiming that this was a breach in her contract. Disney CEO Bob Chapek had this to say when asked at the Goldman Sachs’ 30th annual Communacopia Conference about how Disney plans to deal with paying actors in the face of the changing media landscape: “Certainly the world is changing, and the talent deals going forward will have to reflect the fact that the world is changing. We’re in a moment of time where films were envisioned under one understanding about what the world would be.”
Crystal Dynamics Is Working With The Initiative On The Perfect Dark Reboot
The Initiative has posted on Twitter that they’re working with Crystal Dynamics on the Perfect Dark reboot. Crystal Dynamics has launched games such as Marvel’s Avengers and Tomb Raider, so this partnership looks to be promising for Perfect Dark. Crystal Dynamics responded by tweeting, “We thrive on reimagining epic heroes and can’t wait to realize this first-person spy thriller together. We’re thrilled to add Perfect Dark to our development efforts alongside Marvel’s Avengers and Tomb Raider.”
All-New The Last Of Us Content Being Revealed This Weekend
This Sunday, September 26, it looks like we will be seeing new content for The Last of Us to celebrate The Last of Us Day. September 26 is known as The Last of Us Day because it’s the day that the outbreak reached its critical point in the first The Last of Us game. Naughty Dog hasn’t revealed any of the specifics yet, only that we will be getting new content in addition to new merch. It’s possible we will see more info on The Last of Us Part 2’s Factions, a multiplayer mode that was included in the first game but hasn’t been seen yet for Part 2.
