SNK Corporation have have released a new gameplay teaser trailer for The King of Fighters XV focused on Yashio Nanakase.
Yashiro was originally part of a band with friends Chris and Shermie, but their big gig was cancelled for a jazz band helmed by Iori Yagami. The group sought revenge by stealing invitations to the King of Fighters ’97 tournament. However, the blood of the divine being Orochi awoke within Yashiro.
The three remember they are the Hakkesshu, worshipers of Orochi seeking his revival, and are three of the Four Heavenly Kings. While the events of that tournament lead to their deaths, the events of The King of Fighters XIV saw them being revived.
While usually desperately trying to come across as cool, his darker urges sometimes surface. Likewise, Yashio’s fighting style usually employs pure speed, and usually follow up into heavy blows.

As previously reported at the game’s announcement, the game is currently being optimized, with certain features being “brushed up.” An animated promotional short by Masami Obari (the 1990s Fatal Fury movies) is set to be released soon, along with a new trailer next week.
The King of Fighters XV launches 2021. Platforms have not been confirmed at this time. We shall keep you informed as we learn more.
