According to a data miner who has found maps of The Last of Us 2 Multiplayer, this Multiplayer could feature a Battle Royale Mode; the data mined map is large enough to have those kinds of mode, as you can see in the video clearly.
The Data Miner also stated in the comments, “Didn’t mention it in the video, but in the development footage, there’s a compass and a player count which is usually only used in battle royales. Oh, and there’s also an emote wheel script.”
This does not confirm anything; it could be some sort of scrapped idea; however, we do know that Naughty Dog is working on a Multiplayer game.
I believe that this multiplayer mode could come with The Last of Us Remake, which is apparently in development at Naughty Dog.
There could be some sort of Director’s Cut for The Last of Us Part 2 as well since Sony has been kinda doing that for now.
I feel like the gameplay of The Last of Us 2 would make a perfect Multiplayer Game, so I cannot wait to see what Naughty Dog are able to do with this.
