The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild could be considered one of the greatest open-world games of all time. Its sprawling landscape is filled with tons of secrets to explore and enemies to combat. Attaining the fabled Master Sword is one of the later quests you’ll be given in the game. Breath of the Wild makes it so that Link has to have at least 13 heart containers to be able to acquire the sword, but this recently discovered glitch lets you do so with only the three hearts you get at the start.
Picking up the Master Sword takes a lot out of Link. When you interact with it, your hearts start depleting and only stop when you’re on the brink of death. However, this glitch bypasses all of that. As spotted by GameRant, YouTuber Limcube put up a video to show us how it’s exactly done. In the video they have thanked Bot_W for finding the glitch.

To start off, you need to make your way to the Master Sword’s location in the Lost Wood along with a piece of wood and a fire source like a fire sword or arrow. Once you’re at the spot, you need to stand within interacting distance of the sword with the piece of wood in hand. You then drop the wood on the floor and light it on fire, this will create a campfire. With the “sleep” prompt on screen, position the camera to look upwards at the sky and then select the option to sleep till morning. Once the screen goes dark, you need to mash the “A” button. That’s it! You’ll awaken the next morning to a prompt saying that you have acquired the Master Sword.
The Master Sword will be available in your inventory, and you’ll be able to use it as well. However, the game will not recognize this as a legitimate action, and you’ll need to come back with 13 hearts if you want to complete the mission.
While we’re talking about acquiring Zelda items, a rare sealed 1987 copy of The Legend of Zelda is up for auction, with the bid starting at $110,000. Heritage Auction has mentioned that this is, by far, the most prestigious gaming related item ever put up for auction on the platform.
