No one man should have all that power and yet, one does. A new season of the anime centered on the world’s strongest fighter – Baki Hanma – will return to Netflix next month.
The latest season of Baki will be called Baki Hanma – or Baki: Son of Ogre – and it is set to conclude the series. Centered on a young martial artist with immense strength, this release will mark thirty years since the original anime – Baki the Grappler – debuted in 1991. Fans can look forward to the muscle bound fighter finally getting to face his biggest challenge – his father, Yujiro, who is often referred to as Ogre and “the strongest creature on earth.”

But, Yujiro won’t be Baki’s only foe this season. The latest trailer – released on Netflix’s Anime Youtube channel a few weeks ago – shows grappler Baki fighting his strongest, and strangest, group of opponents yet, including world renowned boxer, Mike Tyson and a praying mantis.
Although an exact date is unknown, according to an email sent out by Netflix, you can look forward to Baki being released in September of this year.
Anime fans can also look forward to Netflix’s new live action adaption of the popular science fiction neo-noir anime – Cowboy Bebop. The series – starring John Cho as space bounty hunter Spike – is set to be released this November. By the looks of some recently released photos, you can expect the Netflix series to closely follow the original anime. If more light hearted anime is you thing, pop singer Louane recently teamed up with Pokemon to create a music video with lots of Pickachu to celebrate Pokemon’s 25th anniversary. Additionally, Pokemon TV is now available on Nintendo Switch for free. It includes episodes of the beloved, anime as well as movies, including Pokemon: The First Movie – which was originally released in 1998.
