However, most builds have a few quirks that work well with them, and you should know all about them before starting a new playthrough in Wasteland 3 since these quirks can be the difference between creating a powerful or unprepared character. Here are the 10 best quirks in Wasteland 3 and their unique effects.
Serial Killer
Action points are incredibly important in Wasteland 3 if you want to get as much out of each turn as possible. What the serial killer quirk, every time your character kills an enemy, they gain 3 AP.
However, the serial killer perk can only activate once per turn, which means that it doesn't stack if you kill multiple enemies in a single turn. Regardless, this is an incredibly useful ability, especially if you use a weapon type that requires a lot of action points to attack.
Blunderer
The Blunderer perk is very useful if you enjoy knowing exactly how much damage you're going to deal because it gives you less critical chance while buffing your melee damage by 15 percent. This buff may not seem like much at first glance, but it's a lot of extra damage.

The downside of this perk is having less of a chance to hit a critical attack; however, the extra melee damage will override this since critical hits are already so rare.
Bop Bag
Bop Bag is a very basic perk for a complex RPG; however, it's useful for any type of build regardless of weapon type or theme. This quirk grants you an extra 6 armor; however, your combat speed will be reduced by 0.4. the armor bonus is major, and the combat speed effect is small enough that it won't be a major problem for you during combat.
If you want to create a tanky character that can survive explosives, sniper rifles, and other high damage weapons, then you should consider picking Bop Bag as your quirk.
Doomsday Prepper
While exploring the Colorado Wasteland, you'll run into many situations where your characters are infected with status effects or negative attributes. These status effects are hard to avoid completely since they can be obtained inside and outside of combat.

However, with the Doomsday Prepper perk, you will take 35 percent less damage from status effects. Although this is only a third, this damage reduction will occasionally be the difference between your character living and dying. Similar to Bop Bag, Doomsday Prepper is a quirk that's great for high-health characters. If you choose this quirk, then you can't read skill books.
Pyromaniac
Characters that use explosives and flamethrowers should take note of the Pyromaniac quirk because it buffs both of these damage types by 25 percent. A 25 percent bonus to your primary weapon type is major while starting a new playthrough in Wasteland 3, which is why this is one of the strongest quirks that you can unlock.
The only downside for the Pyromaniac perk is that it gives you a chance to set on fire every time you use an explosive weapon; however, this is a small price to pay for the major damage boost that you are granted with this quirk.
Sadomasochist
Sadomasochist is a quirk that you should only unlock if you're creating a glass cannon build; however, it's still a very powerful skill to have. This quirk boosts your melee and ranged damage by 33 percent; however, you also take 33 percent more damage in combat.
Using the Sadomasochist quirk is hardest during the beginning stages of the game when your character doesn't have a lot of health; however, as you find stronger armor, the trade-off between the amount of damage you take and the amount of damage you deal is more than fair.
Pointdexter
The Poindexter quirk grants you extra skill points as you level up, but it also reduces your CON stat as you level up. This trade-off ends up giving you an extra twelve skill points in total while leaving you with -83 CON.

This is a trade-off that not everyone will want to make; however, this is still a powerful quirk for your character if they're built correctly. The extra skill points can become a major advantage later in the game if you want to make your character more versatile.
Prospector
Prospector is an interesting quirk because it isn't focused on combat or speech. This ability grants you the chance to find gold nuggets while digging, which you can then sell for a profit.
Although this quirk won't make you rich quickly, the extra money, you make from having it will be substantial over the course of a playthrough. The only downside for this quirk is 1 less quick slot, which isn't a major problem.
Circus Freak
Circus freak has a few bonuses, including granting you a minor boost in combat speed and plus 25 percent critical resistance. Circus Freak also has some downsides; most notably, your evasion will be 10 percent less effective.
However, the critical resistance is a great trade-off considering how small the downsides are because a critical hit can defeat your character quickly and without warning.
Waste Roamer
Waste Roamer has the most useful positive effect for a quirk in Wasteland 3; however, it also comes packaged with a major negative. The Waste Roamer quirk grants you 100 percent resistance to shock, poison, freezing, burning, and bleeding damage.
The downside for the Waste Roamer perk is that you lose 15 percent of the experience points that you would otherwise obtain throughout the game, which means that you'll level up at a much slower pace. Regardless, this quirk makes Wasteland 3 much easier since you will barely have to worry about status effects during combat if you unlock this ability.
