Xbox Making The Elder Scrolls Online, Hood: Outlaws and Legends, and More Free to Play This Weekend

Last weekend, Xbox offered Xbox Live Gold and Game Pass Ultimate subscribers the opportunity to play Battlefield 4, Neon Abyss, and AO Tennis 2 for no additional cost as part of its Free Play Days promotion. Today, the company announced which titles members of both services will be able to hop into this weekend, with the lineup offering three games.

At 12:01 AM PT, Gold and Game Pass Ultimate owners can check out I Am Bread and Hood: Outlaws and Legends, with the games sticking around until August 22 at 11:59 PM PT. As for the third game, it's available right now and will remain a part of Xbox's Free Play Days promotion for much longer than anticipated, with subscribers able to jump into The Elder Scrolls Online until August 30 at 7:00 AM PT.

Hood: Outlaws and Legends is the most recent release of the bunch, with the title hitting shelves in May of this year. As the title suggests, the game follows the exploits of Robin Hood and his Merry Men, offering a multiplayer experience where players set up daring heists with their friends. However, there's a catch. A rival team of player-controlled outlaws will oppose players during their missions, clashing with them in an effort to secure the treasure. Players get to take control of all-new interpretations of several iconic Robin Hood characters, from Maid Marion and Friar Tuck to the titular master thief himself. The game will be on sale during the weekend too, dropping to $17.99.

As for The Elder Scrolls Online, it's pretty much what it says on the tin. Players get to enter The Elder Scrolls' iconic fantasy universe alongside a host of other players, adventuring to both new and returning parts of Tamriel while completing quests and slaying enemies. The version included in the free trial is Tamriel Unlimited, so players won't be able to hop into the recently released Blackwood expansion.

However, they will get access to the Gates of Oblivion prologue quest and a discount on the expansion during its free stint, with it dropping to $25.99. Players can also grab the original game for just $8, as well as a collection that contains everything released for Elder Scrolls Online for $51.99.

Finally, I Am Bread sees players take on the role of a slice of bread, embarking on an epic journey to transform themselves into toast. As the concept suggests, it's a hilariously silly game by the team who brought players Surgeon Simulator, focusing on wacky platforming. Unlike the other games, it won't see a reduction this weekend and will be available to purchase for its regular price of $12.99.
