Xbox Series X’s 1080p UI Reportedly Isn’t Final and Will be Updated Before Launch

As next-gen comes around, 4K is likely going to be much more common, at least across the PS5 and Xbox Series X. And of course, seeing as consumers are going to expect to see their games in 4K, they will obviously want something as simple as the consoles’ UIs rendered in 4K as well. Recently, it was reported that the Xbox Series X wouldn’t be doing that, and that its UI would instead be rendered in 1080p.

However, that might end up changing by the time the console releases. Recently, GamesBeat’s Jeff Grubb took to Twitter to mention that the embargo sent to him by Microsoft alongside an Xbox Series X for pre-release impressions and previews specifically mentions that the UI and certain elements aren’t final and will be updated before launch. It’s possible, then, that the Xbox Series X’s UI when the console releases will end up being 4K after all.

Meanwhile, Sony recently also revealed the PS5’s UI, also confirming that it will run in 4K.

Microsoft recently detailed the full list of launch titles the Xbox Series X/S will be releasing it. Check it out through here.

The XSX UI is 1080p right now, but the embargo says specifically not to dwell on the UI elements because it isn't final and will be updated before launch. If it's still 1080p, then that would be frustrating.
