To Your Eternity is a supernatural drama about an orb cast onto Earth learning about the world, being human, and learning about an ulterior motive for his existence. After taking the forms of different dead creatures they come in contact with, they eventually become a boy. He eventually gets named Fushi.

The show follows his journey as an immortal being meeting new people, making, friends, and facing the deaths of loved ones. The show will make anyone shed a few tears. There is a variety of anime series that are like To Your Eternity whether it's sad drama, action, adventure, supernatural stories, or just something atmospheric.

10 That Time I Got Reincarnated As A Slime

A corporate employee, who was living a mundane life, get stabbed by an assailant; this ended up giving him an exciting new life. When he wakes up he discovers that he was reincarnated as a blob of slime in a different world.

As the story progresses, he learns that he can devour anything and imitate that object's abilities. Living his new life as Rimuru Tempest, he gains new skills, friends, and many enemies.

9 Jujutsu Kaisen

Jujutsu Kaisen is action-driven with a dark story. Yuji Itadori comes in contact with a talisman and this changes everything and opens up new possibilities for the world. Everyone person creates cursed energy through negative emotions which create curses because people can't control it.

Jujutsu sorcerers are tasked with exorcising these cursed monsters, but the story gets more twisted. Yuji makes friends with other bad-ass characters and with another extremely powerful white-haired character named Satoru Gojo.

8 Dororo

A samurai sacrificed his son for power from 12 demons. His son was born without limbs, a face, or skin, but he was still alive. The child was thrown in a river but he was saved and given prosthetics and weapons to survive.

Without and sensory abilities, he still embarks on a mission to defeat the demons and regain what they took from him. He later meets a young orphan named Dororo and they must fight to survive in a threatening world.

7 Violet Evergarden

Violet Evergarden, just like Fushi, is an innocent-faced yet deadly character that is learning about being human. She was an abandoned child with exceptional combat and survival skills so she was taken in by the military and grew up as a weapon. After her military life, she tries to learn human emotions, the primary one being love.

She works as a ghostwriter known as an Auto Memory Doll where she listens to touching stories and must convey them in the form of a letter. This proves to be a challenge since she is still unlearning her weaponized military life devoid of emotions.

6 Inuyasha

This classic anime has both an orb and a white-haired protagonist but is not quite like To Your Eternity. Kagome stumbles upon the Sengoku period in Japan where Inuyasha, a half-demon half-human, is chasing a pink orb called the Shikon Jewel that holds immense power.

Kagome, Inuyasha, and the friends they meet along the way must voyage across Japan to fight powerful demons and recover all the pieces of the jewel before it gets into the wrong hands.

5 Samurai Champloo

Adventure, action, and a touching story are strong in Samurai Champloo. The story follows Fuu, a waitress, who decided to journey through Edo period Japan to find a samurai that smells like sunflowers. She is joined by two samurai with eccentric fighting styles to aid her on her journey.

On their way, they not only find more clues about this sunflower samurai, but they learn more about their own lives. Each stop they make on their journey changes the course of the story, similar to Fushi's encounters.

4 Mushishi

A lot of these supernatural shows have white-haired protagonists, and Ginko is one of them. Mushishi's main character Ginko is in search of answers about the Mushi sometime after the Edo period. The Mushi are lifeforms that exist without a purpose for living.

He believes that they don't determine life based on what's good or bad; they are just surviving in any shape or form. Ginko can see the Mushi and stumbles upon strange occurrences that could give him insight into the Mushi's existence and the meaning of life.

3 Natsume's Book of Friends

Takashi Natsume can see spirits just like his grandmother. His grandmother left a book for Natsume when she passed away called the Book of Friends which has the names of spirits his grandmother trapped. The spirits haunt Natsume because of the book so he decides to free the spirits.

However, some spirits pose a threat since the book holds a lot of power, putting Natsume in danger. Natsume's Book of Friends is a slice-of-life drama set in a supernatural world filled with wild spirits, including an adorable cat named Madara, who is devoted to protecting Natsume.

2 March Comes In Like A Lion

Rei Kiriyama is a gifted professional shogi player, yet he struggles as much as any player. This drama revolves around Rei's mental health with growing pressure as a shogi player trying to climb the ranks. His mental health is also suffering from his past tragedies caused by his adoptive family, his new lonely life in Tokyo, his complex emotions he can't quite figure out.

He meets the Kawamoto sisters who treat Rei as a family member. This starts his mental voyage of discovering his self-worth and growing as a shogi player.

1 Mononoke

This is a dark experimental anime that leans into horror. The story is about a Medicine Seller hunting down Mononoke, spirits that attach themselves to negative human emotions. The Medicine Seller has a unique technique to fight the Mononoke. He must learn the form, truth, and reason behind the spirit to exorcise the spirits with his sword.

He ends up at an inn and discovers that somethings not right. He realizes that the vacant room a the inn has the dangerous Mononoke, the Zashiki Warashi. With this information, he starts searching for the form, truth, and reason behind the Mononoke.
