Discord has a max capacity of 800,000 users – nearly one million. This is to mitigate server issues so that each one can actually function. There are other stipulations in place such as the fact that no server can have more than 500 channels which is certainly a lot of notifications. Welcome to the seven layers of beeping hell… unless you mute 'em. Genshin Impact reached the limit on its users some time ago but, at long last, miHoYo has created a second server to accommodate even more players.
The first server is simply titled the Genshin Impact Official Discord. The second is quaintly named the Genshin Impact Tavern.

There aren't many games with official Discords of this size. The only others are Minecraft and Fortnite meaning that miHoYo's free-to-play RPG has managed to find itself nestled among the big leagues. It's not too surprising – it does boast several million players while it also has expansion-sized content planned for the next few years with a 2.0 update having just been released. 2.1 is set for September which is right around the corner so it makes sense that miHoYo is gearing up for an influx of fans.
Already, the new Discord has over 50,000 members. It's not quite the max of 800,000 but it puts into perspective just how many people wanted to get in.
Hopefully, for miHoYo's sake, this one doesn't fill up to capacity too quickly. Running three servers of 800,000 people a pop sounds like a lot of work.
Regardless, Genshin Impact is now available for PC, PS4, and mobile devices. As of the 2.0 update, you can transfer your progress between all three platforms while cross-platform play is also enabled.
