Not much is currently known about the upcoming action-adventure RPG Hogwarts Legacy other than it's been pushed back to 2022. While avid Harry Potter fans may be disappointed by the longer wait, this is ultimately a good thing, as it means Avalanche has more time to deliver game that lives up to expectations.
The trailer for Hogwarts Legacy showed some of what fans can expect of the upcoming Wizarding World game, and something important to note is that it will be an open-world RPG, with player choice being a key part of the experience. It looks like players can tailor their story based on dialogue options and other decisions, though it's unclear exactly what shape this will take. Will the plot change drastically, much like Dragon Age: Origins? Or will it have less of an overall impact, similar to BioWare's other flagship series, Mass Effect? Either way, there are some Slytherin traits well-known of the House that Hogwarts Legacy should take advantage of.

Like Ravenclaws, Slytherins are often noted for excelling in academics, but part of where this talent comes from is their natural sense of ambition. While Gryffindors strive to be great and heroic, Slytherins often strive to be better, sometimes out of spite. This ambition often goes head-to-head with a Gryffindor's determination, a common reason why the two Houses are natural rivals. Taking a look at Fallout 4's skill tree as an example, a Slytherin's skills would most likely translate to Intelligence and Perception the most, with some Charisma when it comes to techniques like intimidation and deception.
Something very characteristic of a Slytherin student is their tendency to bend the rules to get what they want or succeed, and it's easy to see how this could work in Hogwarts Legacy. Though Hermione, Ron, and Harry are seen lockpicking in the first Harry Potter film using the Unlocking Charm Alohomora, it seems more representative of something a Slytherin would do, as they're more likely to break rules or take the less lawful route to solutions. It's also possible that they would use intimidation or scare tactics to get information out of others.
All Hogwarts Houses have their own flaws. For example, Gryffindors can be exceptionally stubborn, but Slytherins are known for being prideful and sometimes selfish. Sometimes that pride stems from being pure-blood, though not all Slytherins are, it's very rare to find a Slytherin student who's muggle-born. In the way that Dragon Age limits players based on their race, perhaps some flaws will impede Slytherin characters from pursuing certain heroic paths or befriending Gryffindor students, which could affect the overall outcome.
Additionally, it would be interesting to see each house get some sort of skill buff based on their houses, following Skyrim's model of race-based buffs. For example, perhaps Gryffindors could be more charismatic, and therefore are better at persuasion checks, while Ravenclaws are known for being intelligent and clever, so perhaps they excel more academically. Seeing Slytherin's traits utilized in this manner would likely hit a positive chord amongst open-world RPG gamers, but fans will have to wait until next year for more details.
