Xbox Series X Launches November 2020

Xbox Series X

Microsoft have announced the Xbox Series X will launch November 2020.

The news comes mere moments after the announced delay of Halo Infinite to 2021. 343 Industries’ studio head Chris Lee explained the delay was due to the coronavirus pandemic, and the Holiday 2020 release date would not have been “sustainable” for the team’s well-being and the game’s success.

It is likely some will speculate that the decision of the launch date for either Halo Infinite or the Xbox Series X had an affect on the other; especially with many expecting Halo Infinite to be the console’s “killer app.”

As such, the blog post emphasizes that the Xbox Series X will have “thousands of games to play, spanning four generations” when it launches. Over 100 titles will be optimized for Xbox Series X; boasting 130 FPS, faster loading, Quick Resume for multiple games, Smart Delivery to “upgrade” games from Xbox One, and more.

The system will also support Xbox Game Pass; Microsoft’s subscription service to access over 100 games. From September 15th, users will also be able to use cloud gaming via Android or tablet via Xbox Game Pass Ultimate.
