Only 92 days remain until Final Fantasy 14 Endwalker’s early access weekend opens, and for those of us eager to journey to the moon, that’s an eternity. While we don’t know what the future holds for our beloved Scions and their next showdown with Zenos, there’s plenty to tide us all over until the day comes. Last week, we learned about the Moonfire Faire and a bit of Omega lore. This week, Final Fantasy 14’s biggest beats include a very familiar mount, the Shadowbringers soundtrack, and new interviews.

Exponential Entropy
It’s Alexander’s 11th tier all over again, and depending upon how many hours you spent on that fight, Exponential Entropy is either your most hated or most beloved song. Square Enix has officially added the Alexander boss Cruise Chaser to Final Fantasy 14 as a new mount, and it’s even got enough room on it for a friend. It’ll cost you a hefty chunk, though, as the warmachina is $30 on the online store.
Stand Tall, My Friend
Final Fantasy 14’s soundtracks stand out as some of the series’ best, and that’s why we’re not forgetting to mention the news that the Shadowbringers OST is now available for streaming on services like Spotify, Amazon Music, Apple Music, and others. The tracklist includes phenomenal hits like Tomorrow and Tomorrow, Vamo’alla Flamenco, and A Long Fall. Even for your friends that aren’t into the MMO, it’s packed with bangers that are easy to recommend.
Lead Story Designer On Inspirations And Process
The Final Fantasy 14 team at Square Enix is a creative bunch, and the community is always keen on digging for even the smallest details. Lead Story Designer Banri Oda (with credits on all expansions) spoke to 4gamer recently, answering 15 questions from fans. Plenty of those included interesting tidbits on lore from Eorzea, and even a mention of how fantasy series like A Song of Ice and Fire from George R. R. Martin inspired the game’s writing in Heavensward. If you’ve explored Ishgard’s icy streets, it’s easy to connect the dots.
There’s New Merch, But It Keeps Selling Out
If you’re the type of fan that loves collecting, then you’re probably dancing somewhere between elated and frustrated as the game grows more popular. We’ve seen a lot of neat merchandise over the years, but Square Enix seems to be ramping things up as we storm towards Endwalker. In this last week, we’ve seen delightful new collections in the form of a new poster book and picture book, but they keep selling out just as fast as they’re available. I got lucky late one night after randomly checking, but both sold out within seconds after I bought them, so keep checking and make sure you move quickly.
The Leveilleur Twins Make Their Endwalker Debut
Beloved siblings of the Scions Alphinaud and Alisaie will have a big part to play in the upcoming Endwalker expansion. While those of us who see the Final Fantasy 4 parallels may be biting our nails over the comparison, fans are still excited to see the duo finally take center stage and receive their own CGI cutscene moments. Ahead of the big 6.0 release, Square Enix tweeted out previews of both Alisaie and Alphinaud as they’ll appear in the expansion. It doesn’t reveal where their arc will take us, but we do finally have some snazzy official art of how they’ll look on the journey.
