Hilarious Call of Duty: Warzone Bug Lets Players Perform T-Pose Assassination

Call of Duty: Warzone is one of the most popular competitive shooters in the world right now, and for many good reasons; the game has tight controls, a plethora of weapons and playstyles, and continuously evolving content. But for all of Warzone’s strengths, there’s also a fair amount of problems worthy of criticism, like extensive hacker problems and a bevy of bugs.

A game bug happens when a title behaves in a manner that programmers did not intend to happen. Ranging from payload trucks not moving to Warzone’s heartbeat sensors being completely useless, the game’s bugs can either be mildly annoying or absolutely infuriating. And, as it turns out, they can sometimes be hilarious too.

In Warzone, should a player sneak up behind another and get within melee range, they can execute an assassination command. During these assassinations, characters will run through an elaborate animation that ends with them killing the opposing player in a single hit. There is a vast number of different unlockable finishers for players to select from, such as one Warzone finisher that involves a crow attack, among many others.

It seems that sometimes these finishing animations don’t always play out correctly, however. Warzone streamer Frozone has uploaded a clip to Twitter where his assassination animation bugs out. Rather than showcase a fancy execution of the opposing player, Frozone’s attempt instead displays both him and his enemy stuck in a t-pose, an infamous posture where a character model stands lifeless with their arms out to the side. The two combatants float around a bit in the aforementioned pose before Frozone’s adversary suddenly drops dead.

Game development is obviously an incredibly challenging, involved process and it’s to be expected that some bugs will manage to sneak their way through the developer’s fingers. Warzone does seem to have more bugs and glitches than most, though. One of the popular battle royale’s absolute worst was when Warzone was kicking players out of a match for inactivity, even there they were in fact, playing.

Of course, Warzone is hardly the only game with bugs and glitches. Red Dead Redemption 2’s ambitious scope has many bugs of its own and Cyberpunk 2077’s launch was so rough that Sony even pulled the title from its PlayStation digital storefront. Still, Warzone being a competitive title means that bugs can actually cause players to lose a match, which certainly makes it more serious. Although to be fair, this most recent t-pose bug is more hilarious than frustrating.

Call of Duty: Warzone is available on PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
