No More Heroes 3 Review Round Up

It's No More Heroes 3 release day and reviews for the new Switch game are starting to roll in. Here's what the critics think of the latest installment in the series.

Summer might be winding down but don't despair. While that might mean the sun will shine more infrequently, or just remain wherever it has been for the past month if you live in the UK, it also means more new games. The summer months can be pretty barren when it comes to new releases, but the arrival of Psychonauts 2 and No More Heroes 3 this week is a sign that dry spell is about to be well and truly moistened.

Speaking of No More Heroes 3, the third game in the series officially arrives on Nintendo Switch today. If you've not already picked up a copy – perhaps because you're still on the fence about doing so – the reviews are in, and you can check out what the critics have to say about the game right here.

Our own review highlights the game's battle system, labeling it like something you might find in a hardcore action game, exactly what you would want from a game like this. However, it's the prolonged periods between these epic battles where No More Heroes 3 starts to fall flat. A real mixed bag in terms of review scores when it comes to No More Heroes 3, as you can see above, which has resulted in a Metacritic score of 76, so not too shabby.. Despite the spread, the same issue mentioned above appears to rear its head in almost all of the game's reviews. That if the excitement whipped up by a boss fight could generate enough momentum to comfortably take you to the next one, then this would be a much more appealing game. Without that, it sounds like a game that will easily appeal to those familiar with the series but will probably fail to bring in many new players.
