While the next Call of Duty game has finally been revealed, plenty of players are still enjoying Modern Warfare while it is still the newest game. The Season 5 update brought plenty to Modern Warfare, including new weapons, game modes, and characters. The next Double XP, Double Weapon XP, and Double Battle Pass Tier Progression has been announced to help players enjoy Season 5 and finish out the Games of Summer event. This giant day is currently slated for September 7.
The Games of Summer event has brought a lot of fun things to both Modern Warfare and Warzone. There are new Warzone game modes, challenging Trials to complete, and tons of rewards that are absolutely free to earn. Combined with all of the Season 5 updates, now is a great time for players to try out new weapons and work on the Battle Pass.

One of the new weapons that players should check out is the FiNN LMG. This assault rifle and LMG hybrid is deadly, precise, and a mighty force against enemy vehicles. With weapon experience being doubled on September 7, gamers need to unlock and start practicing with this gun. It is advised to try out all kinds of weapons and level up as many as possible during this special event so that players have plenty of options to choose from.
Double XP means that more players will be drawn to the game. This means that there will be more people to explore and experiment in both Modern Warfare and Warzone. The hidden AK foregrip that players can use in Gunfight but doesn’t show up in Gunsmith is just one example of the many things still hidden in the game for players to discover.
On the downside of this event, more players means plenty of opportunity to encounter more cheaters as well. Hopefully, the recent crackdown of Activision suing one popular cheating website will discourage other websites from selling hacking services. The competitive nature of Call of Duty games has always attracted gamers trying to cheat and trick their way to victory, and this is one great step towards a fair and equal gaming future.
A dark spot in this event is the demon glitch. The texture effect, which makes guns appear as black spiky masses, seems to have spread to player corpses now. Hopefully, the massive number of players that are drawn to Season 5 plus the Games of Summer event plus the Double XP day means that Activision will put more resources into fixing this game-breaking bug. Until then, players should figure out what weapons they will grind XP for on September 7.
