Forza Motorsport Cross-Gen?
Reddit user posts new images alleging that the upcoming Forza Motorsport 2022 game will in fact be running on the 8-year-old Xbox One consoles.
What makes these new rumors newsworthy is that the images clearly show the next Forza Motorsport running on the Xbox One consoles, and they have been verified by the r/gamingleaksandrumors last Saturday as legitimate.
Forza Motorsport 2022 was originally announced back in July 2020 in Xbox’s E3 presentations. The game was announced as a next-gen exclusive, running only on the Xbox Series X/S console generation. Since then, the game has been kept behind closed doors with no development updates.
The Reddit user could in fact be a Turn 10 developer who has access to Forza Motorsport’s closed tests. This however does not confirm that Forza Motorsport 2022 will be running on the Xbox One console generation as this may just be an early build made available only for testers.
It is also worth noting that Turn 10 has previously claimed that Forza Motorsport is aiming to deliver a huge generational leap in terms of overall graphical fidelity, and according to the official Forza Motorsport teaser trailer, this may just be incredibly true.
“To put the physics work into perspective for everyone, the changes we’ve made from Forza Motorsport 7 till now is more than the changes that we’ve made from Motorsport 4 through 7, so it’s basically a huge generational leap coming to the game,” said Chris Esaki, Creative Director.
Forza Motorsport is expected to release sometime in the Fall of 2022, and more information regarding the game is to be expected at Xbox and Bethesda’s Games Showcase event in June 2022.
