Cyberpunk 2077 Single Player Will Not Feature Microtransactions, Insists Developer

Cyberpunk 2077_11

We’re on the road to Cyberpunk 2077, or at least that’s the hope and that there won’t be another major delay. The game is sure to be something, one way or another, and it’s no stranger to making some waves for a variety of reasons. One of those waves came earlier today when it was said that the game’s multiplayer mode, which will come at a later point, would have microtransactions. That raised some eyebrows, especially since the developer has seemingly been against the practice in the past. Well, it seems they took to Twitter to clear things up a bit.

Via the official Twitter account, it was insisted that the single player portion of the game, that is known simply as Cyberpunk 2077, will be MTX-free as was always promised (they even retweeted a response to a tweet from over a full year ago on the topic). They said the microtransactions would only apply to whatever form the multiplayer mode will take on, something they say they’ve always been clear about.

As it stands now, we don’t know a whole lot about the multiplayer component of the game. The main release is still set for November 19th, so it will most likely be a good while before we know anything about it regardless. We will be seeing post-launch plans for 2077 soon, though, so hopefully CDPR can reassure more with that.

Cyberpunk multiplayer/online, which is a separate project, will have some microtransactions, but we said that a year ago already. Like always, expect us treating your money with respect.
