Blue Box Studios’ Abandoned got a lot of attention recently, but perhaps not the kind it was looking for. The game is scheduled to launch later this year but had to face doubts about its very nature. While we don’t know much about the game and its content, we’ve finally got a pre-load date for its app.
“We’re excited to announce that the Abandoned Trailers App will be available to preload free of charge for all PS5 users on July 29 with the introduction available on August 10 followed by the first trailer later in August,” tweeted the official Blue Box Studios handle.
The app suffered a number of delays from its original release date in June, but it seems like it will finally be out later this month. The Abandoned app supposedly provides additional information about the game and will also be where you’ll be able to see the first trailer.

Various conspiracies and circumstantial evidence convinced the internet that Abandoned was actually a marketing gimmick for Hideo Kojima’s next game. It’s not like Kojima hasn’t pulled this stunt before, but Blue Box came out a number of times to say that it wasn’t the case.
Studio head Hasan Kahraman said Abandoned really has nothing to do with Hideo Kojima or his studio, Kojima Productions. However, "it doesn't matter how much I try to debunk all this,” Kahraman said. “People don't believe it. They just expect something that's not out there. It bothers me.”
Earlier in April, Kahraman spoke about the steps the studio was taking to make the upcoming game more realistic. He revealed that Unreal Engine 4 was being used and that a lot of detail was being put into making animations look smooth. Another step taken to add realism was the removal of the HUD, meaning players would have to manually check their ammo and attend to their wounds.
Player choices will make a difference when it comes to gameplay. You might have to choose whether to pick up your weapon or dress your wound first if you get knocked down; choosing the wrong option means suffering the consequences.
