All last week, Respawn Entertainment has been teasing the upcoming Legend with a story series called "The Moth and the Flame." It's told as an ancient fable about a princess who's trapped in a palace by her overprotective parents and a moth who tries to help her escape so she can be with her one true love. But instead, the moth gets drawn into a bonfire and dies. Because it's a moth.
A somewhat happier teaser for the upcoming legend can be found in-game on the Olympus map. Players have discovered small golden boxes at the bridge and Icarus Ship locations that, when activated, release a constellation of blue lights that dance into the shape of a fluttering moth.

On top of that, every character reveals a new hint for the upcoming Legend. Winston says, “Rumors say this combatant’s mother was a moon and his father, a moth," while Valkyrie expresses reservations about the new Legend's ability to fly.

You also get a super cute gun charm, too. It's shaped a bit like a moth, but in all likelihood, it's more like a moth drone.
We first thought that Apex Legends' next character would be the previously datamined Pariah, but now the consensus is that the new Legend will be named Seer. Charlie Intel noted that teasers for Seer could be traced back to Season 8 with a moth symbol appearing in the teaser for Season 9's upcoming Arena mode.
Datamines from earlier in the season revealed Seer's ability icons along with a description of what's likely a moth-shaped drone. We're not sure what Seer's abilities are, but they're certainly going to tie into the ongoing teaser series we’ve been watching all week.
Today’s Stories from the Outlands is likely to provide even more info on Seer, if the new Legend even is Seer and not Pariah. Stay tuned at 11 AM EST (8 AM PST) to find out.
