Axiom Verge 2: Gishru Boomerang Location | Game Rant

Axiom Verge 2 is yet another sprawling Metroidvania game to grace consoles, offering players a mix of combat and exploration that so many seem to be fond of. Of course, just like other games in the genre, it can be difficult to find what players need early on in the game. For those struggling, here's where to find the Gishru Boomerang in Axiom Verge 2.

Fortunately, it doesn't take long for Axiom Verge 2 to start giving players items that they'll need to be successful on their journey through the frozen setting, so players will be able to locate the Gishru Boomerang without too much fuss. However, Axiom Verge 2 does feature winding paths, so it can be a bit difficult to find the right direction when players are just getting started.

The Gishru Boomerang is located in The Glacier, where players will be dropped soon after the game's intro sequence ends. From the Urn where players spawn, follow the pathway left. It's the only direction that players will be able to travel, so it should be fairly obvious. After a few cells, players will see a large drop-off leading straight down, broken up by a few platforms and enemies. Follow that pathway all the way to the bottom then head right. Eventually, there will be another break in the path complete with platforms. Take the one that leads up slightly, just below the top-most path.

Head a few more cells to the right, and there it is. Players will find Axiom Verge 2's Gishru Boomerang hanging below a light, giving them access to a ranged weapon. The Boomerang is useful for opening some doors early on, so it's a vital piece of Axiom Verge 2's initial exploration. It does a little bit more damage than the Ice Pick, the first weapon that players receive, so it's a useful thing for players to add to their toolbelts.

Axiom Verge 2 is a true Metroidvania title, and finding the Gishru Boomerang can be seen as one of its first real challenges. It's not the most difficult item in the game to locate by any stretch of the imagination, though it should get players ready for what's to come later on in the game, a method that some of the best Metroidvania games out there use to get players up to speed. Of course, that's probably just what the doctor ordered for most fans.

Axiom Verge 2 is available now for Switch.
