Larian Studios has a new patch coming up for Baldur’s Gate 3. This won’t just offer some fixes though – Patch 3 will feature story changes and render previous saves incompatible. However, the developer has announced that a secondary branch will be available for Steam users to continue playing on the previous version of the game. The option will be unavailable for Google Stadia players at this time.
The secondary branch will be accessible through Steam’s Betas tab andby selecting “patch2.” It’s worth noting that automatic updates should be disabled to allow players to choose between the primary and secondary branch. At the very least, if one is looking to re-roll, this is a great way to see what the next patch has to offer first.
Baldur’s Gate 3 is currently available for PC and Google Stadia via early access. It’s slated to be in early access for the next year or so, though Larian has reiterated its stance to release it “when it’s done.” Stay tuned for more details on the next patch when it goes live.
