Battlefield 2042 Launching "Exodus" Short Film On August 12

EA and DICE today revealed Exodus – a short film set in the world of Battlefield 2042 that'll premiere on August 12. The film will let fans "witness the events that trigger an all-out war," and give us another look at the world we'll be stepping into on October 22.

The short film announcement dropped unceremoniously this morning, with only the slightest indication as to what we can expect to see. A brief mention on the official Battlefield Twitter account stated the short film will start "unpacking the world of Battlefield 2042," and said you'll "witness the locations of Battlefield 2042 through the eyes of embedded journalist Kayvan Bechir."

With the latest Battlefield entry forgoing a single-player campaign, this short film might help set the scene and get a narrative going for the multiplayer action.

Whatever the case, we don't have long to wait – Exodus will air on August 12 at 8am PDT. Battlefield 2042 isn't launching until October, so hopefully, this gives us something to make that long wait a bit easier. You can also look forward to the open beta, which is rumored to begin on September 6.
