Blissey Cracks Into Pokemon Unite This Wednesday

Blissey will be the next playable Pokemon added to Pokemon Unite. The healing support Pokemon will be available starting this Wednesday.

Pokemon Unite's roster will get a little bit bigger this Wednesday as the arrival of a brand new playabale Pokemon has just been announced. Pokemon Unite's official Twitter account revealed that Blissey will be added to the roster as a support Pokemon, an area of the game that has been severely lacking since launch.

Blissey's move set is on show in the announcement trailer below. The gen two Pokemon can be seen hurling eggs at opponents, but more importantly, she can also be seen dashing to her teammates' sides to heal them. If she's anything like her counterpart in other games, she will also be pretty tricky to take down Blissey will be added to the roster of playabale Pokemon on Wednesday, August 18.

Unite players might be a little confused as to why Blissey is getting added to the roster so soon. There had been absolutely no mention of the new Pokemon until her trailer dropped earlier today. However, players are still waiting for the arrival of Blastoise, an incoming Pokemon that was announced before Unite had even launched.

Timi Studios promised Gardevoir and Blastoise would be added post-launch, and while Garevoir arrived just a week into the game's life, there's still no mention of when the end of Squirtle's evolutionary chain will make its Unite debut. Speaking of which, Blissey's reveal doesn't confirm whether Happiny and Chansey will also be added to Unite. Most of Unite's Pokemon start at the beginning of their evolutionary chain, so odds are the same will apply to Blissey.

Wednesday will be a big day for Pokemon fans for a number of reasons. Unite players will likely see a little more of Blissey during Wednesday's Pokemon Presents, after which she will likely be officially added to the game. All that has been confirmed for the stream so far is more details on Brilliant Diamond, Shining Pearl, and Legends Arceus. The hope is that the latter of those titles will be getting the spotlight. Very little is known about the first-ever open-world Pokemon game so far other than it is based in the Sinnoh region and it is slated to launch in early 2022.
