Bloodborne First Person Mod Looks Stunning

As the launch of the PlayStation 5 approached, many Souls-like fans were hoping that From Software would finally drop a sequel to Bloodborne. However, From Software went radio silent for so long that it even made us doubt the existence of the studio’s upcoming game, Elden Ring. While there’s still no word on a sequel to the PS4 classic, a modder has created a new way to play the original, and it looks fabulous.

As spotted by Kotaku, the Bloodborne First Person Mod is created by Garden of Eyes, based on a Dark Souls 3 mod by Zullie the Witch. While the mod isn’t out yet, a trailer was recently dropped by the developer. The first thing that’s noticeable from the trailer is that the first person perspective isn’t like that of most FPS games. Instead of proper arms, the mod features two floating hands, like you would see in VR games like Half-Life: Alyx.

Of course, this mod completely messes up your spatial awareness, but that’s not really the point. Going by the trailer, Garden of Eyes has ensured that gameplay runs smoothly and the animations work as intended.

“The First Person mod has a storied history, owing to the fact From Software has barely changed their camera from Demon's Souls all the way to Sekiro, outside of the black sheep, Dark Souls II,” said Zullie the Witch in the comments section of the trailer. “In many ways, this is the same mod I created way back in Dark Souls, passed through Dark Souls III and Sekiro, finally snaking its tendrils into Bloodborne. I can't wait to bring it to Elden Ring too.”

While fans may be waiting for a Bloodborne sequel in vain, it seems that From Software is already working on a new PS5 exclusive. The rumour first cropped up on a podcast by YouTuber Dealer Gaming. The game will allegedly be similar to FromSoftware's other titles and won't be a timed exclusive, staying permanently on PS5 systems. This was then corroborated by the co-founder of Xbox Era, Nick, on Twitter. Nick was allegedly going to use this leak to start a rumor mill next week.
